The uncomfortable truth is that no policy can save lives. You can only trade off lives so that you now have fewer lives saved by coronavirus, but you're going to have more lives lost because of economic downturn. The answer here then is we need to unwind this as quickly as possible. In order to achieve what the politicians wanted to achieve by locking us all in our homes, they've actually ruined a lot of lives. More get ruined every day as people live without an income.
