The Bolshevik Nationality Policy in Georgia During the Civil War

During the time of Georgian independence, there was a fight between Ossetians and Georgians. They had appealed to the Bolsheviks and had become integrated into sort of Bolshevik formations. The idea that South Ossetia, a predominantly Ossetian, but mixed, ethnically mixed region should be an autonomous region within Georgia was seen as a settlement to ethnic tensions during the Civil War.
