The Roman church from the beginning is number one, world famous, number two, famously Orthodox. Number three seems to have a special role of authority, even if we aren't immediately clear what the contours of that are. The crazy thing about the kind of this conspiracy of silence is that every apostolic church becomes monopiscopal and no one anywhere writes about it. And all of them have this weird recollection that it's always been that way dating back to the apostles.
