What's the Point of Investing?

Gray Kirk: Charting, technical analysis. This is sometimes looked at as a contrast of investment style from fundamental analysis. Fundamental analysis looks at the earnings and the revenue and decides whether a company has good growth prospects going forward. Technical analysis, in and of itself, i don't really even consider it invested. Doi: Why do you invest? What's the point of investing?
