Is There a Case for Not Cooking Your Own Turkey?

Is there a case for not cooking your own turkey? My dad hates turkey, so we never have turkey at our Thanksgiving. Mashed potatoes are difficult, especially you read some recipe that's like make pum puree throw in the food processor and then you do it and it's glue. I've had such bad, mealy, gross mashed potatoes. Are you going to be mad if they don't serve you fresh garlic mashed potatoes? Nicole: It would feel wrong; why wouldn't I want my family happy?
