The Romantic Intuition Is Toward God and West Corrected That
For idealists and certainly for Shiller, the self by itself is entirely empty. It's just that somehow we're broken up and we each have these individual sense organs and point of view. And once content comes into it, then we get this division. But ultimately what these romantics are trying to do is to get us again, back towards the over soul.
