You're Frozen for a Minute

The West is living on Asian energy consumption at the moment. We have a portal line of anesthetic wealth flowing in from Asia, which is hiding our own economic decline for us. But that's not a recipe for long-term prosperity; we've lost a lot of productive capacity in the West. China has an enormous productive capacity which can quickly be repurposed towards material rather than iPhones - and I'm not sure you could do this with the US anymore. It just seems stupid and ignorant.
