There's a distinction that economists make for instance Doug North is sort of famous for this between personal and impersonal exchange. Some institutions are based on things like kinship yeah I think that's right so can an institution be personal well I don't know I'm imagining but it seems to me that you're hinting at some of my work on the way that kinship has interacted with institutions.
