Only about 13% of South Africans speak Afrikaans as a first language. Ryanair has decided that the way to discover if somebody's really South African is to give them a quote simple questionnaire in Afrikaans. That's caused a bit of a firestorm. It's only the third most common language in South Africa. They could do Zulu or Isek Twasa.
