A Fire Induced Failure of Air Conditioning Ducts
There is no requirement that a fire induced failure be considered when completing the system ty analysis required for certification. Examination of several m d 11 aircraft revealed various wiring discrepancies that had the potential to re in wire arking. Such discrepancies reflect a short fall within the aviation industry in wire installation, maintenance and inspection procedures. The transportation safety bureau sent an aviation safety advisory to the n t s b about the wiring issues.
