Is There a Healthy Politics With Polarization?
I think reducing polarization is a worthwhile goal. But I also think the incentive structures of our politics are as much a part of the problem, if not more so, than polarization. These are emotional commitments before they are things that we would defend as substantive reasoned positions. It just means that you ratchet down the emotion level. Is that it? What are some other high points for you from the book so far? One of the things I found super interesting is his bit about Puritanism.
