Dyson Sears block out the ordinary starlight from from stars. Instead it emits a lot of infrared radiation or other kinds of waste heat. So if some aliens come and try to steal our sun one day, that might be why. Nothing like this has ever been seen, but with new telescopes will be able to look for this kind of thing out to greater and greater distances.
