The Twitter Files Are Encouraging Free Speech

Twitter files reveal extent to which the people running Twitter prior to Elon Musk's takeover were using their power over that platform to engage in a quite deliberate strategy of politically motivated censorship. They may not have used the term shadow banning, but that's exactly what they were doing in another name. It's obviously a problem that the First Amendment does not constrain a private entity like Twitter for engaging in that kind of behaviour. If the public sphere is entirely dominated by a small number of network platforms in private ownership, it's hard to see how free speech can flourish.
