Pre-Op Apnea for Pregnant Infants

The risk of post-op apnea is highest in the first six to eight hours and then you know it decreases. Some kids actually want an IV because they understand that they don't like the way they feel when they have a mask induction and some kids even in their teenagers having had lots of surgeries refuse an IV so that takes more negotiation. The other extreme are kids who kind of develop a little bit of a PTSD to the hospital environment which creates a lot of anxiety for them.
