What Is the Difference Between Purpose Ofism and Textualism?
Aka creates a general federal definition of certain crimes, violent felonies or burglary or sin. We have to figure out whether certain state crimes fall within that general federal definition. The court will say that when Congress enacted Aka, it meant to include a majority of the state's definitionsWithin the federal definition of burglary. So for example, if a particular definition of burglary would mean that only five states burglary statutes qualified as burglary under Aka, well, the court willsay that's not right.
