In the movie, he doesn't actually fly any planes. He always manages to wheezle his way out of doing the actual job he's pretending to do. Pan am started using the pan am logo and name in 19 55. So this is period correct. I'm huge into the golden area aviation, like iconography. And then we also see some t w a aircraft a few times,. They show the t w a logo with the two striped logo which is also very iconic. But that logo was not introduced until 19 75, so that was not period correct.
