The Benefits of Radial Velocity for Planets
Of the roughly 5,300 confirmed exoplanets, about a thousand of them have been detected with the radial velocity method. We expect to find more in the coming years thanks to the Gaia spacecraft. But we won't be able to do this until like 2026 once they expect to find tens of thousands of exoplanets using the astrometry method.
