Pre-Revolutionary Russian Children's Literature
I was both surprised and not by something that you revealed in the very beginning of the book when you wrote about the lack of decent graphics in the pre-revolutionary Russian children's literature. And as a person born and raised in the Soviet Union and then in Russia, I wasn't surprised at all. The early ones coming about for the first 10 years after 1917 are really incredible, right? Like you said, so vibrant, so stunning. It makes you realize how much the political culture influences even for children.
