How Much Should a Company Be Worth?

When a company buys, it builds a factory, there are all kinds of questions about exactly how the money that's spent to build the factory is accounted for. The expenses might be the actual components of the things it's making. And in the end, when companies make more money than they spend, one kind of expects that the people who own the company will be getting some part of that money. One theory would be companies are worth ot of the discounted future value of their dividends. This theory is probably nonsense.
