Sallust Is a Good Historical Novel

Sallust is a very different historian from live and tacitus. He seems to be quite unique in that way. Partly it's because we've lost a lot of work. We have lost other works that concentrated on particular events. Sallust tells us something about one possible mind set in the late republic. And also, he's interested in writing about the recent past,. which not every historian wants to do.
