The Promise to Hagar

The challenge for preacher is explaining who Hagar is and how we got into the situation. But then to sit with this text for a while and look, like you said, don't be too quick to jump to the divine intervention. There are other things the Bible could have said or people though Apple could have followed. The way in which these stories speak so deeply into our own, our current contacts and our current realities,. but also so, so importantly reveal characteristics about God thatWe must not only listen, but truly hear and obey living out our faith in the world.
