The Power of Mental Models in User Experience Design

A mental model is taking the world and breaking it up into fundamental parts. It puts them in relationship to each other in a way that makes you go, okay, I get it. When somebody gives you one of those mental models, I think it can be changing your life forever. And so this is what we're always trying to do when we're negotiating with somebody... We're trying to explore their mental models.
