Muhammad Ali was not the founder of modern Egypt. He came from a town called Kavala, which now is in north-eastern Greece. His parents are both turks and his father hails from Central Anatolia. But because he came to Egypt as part of this larger Albanian contingent, his name became associated with the Albanians. And that's when people get confused about him.
