I Abhor Myself and Repent in Dust and Axes
He says in verse six, wherefore i abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes. Repent of thinking i knew better than god because i'd figured out stage one so beautifully. You can hate your own sin without hating yourself as a sinner. I've had interesting conversations with students over the years that worry sometimes when it's a good kid that hasn't committed many major sins,. But then they see somebody who's lived a more rebellious life. Then they repent and and the love they have for the lord is inspiring.
