The History of Pad Thai

During World War II, Thailand suffered a rice shortage after bad flooding. The government of Thailand created the patriotic dish Pad Thai in an effort to encourage noodle eating and save rice. If you've ever had Pad Thai noodles with a tangy sauce, veggies, meat, peanuts, a squeeze of lime, you'll know why it's become famous all over the world.
