Theophilus means lover of god. Is it his actual name, or is it just kind of more of a general thing? Yes, i think he's addressing his patron, the person that made it possible for him to do the kind of rigorous investigation in writing that is undertaking in lukeax. D when you say patron, that would be the person paying for the project, funding the project. The other thing i notice is orderly is repeated a couple of times. So there's se striter here.
