The Importance of Scanning in the Treatment of Head Injury

Nice is saying that we have to do the scan in these group of patients but that we need to consider it. There's conflicting evidence from cohort studies about whether patients on anti-cregulants and antiplatelets are actually at higher risk of intracerebral hemorrhage. So I found it really useful to go back to the head study from Mason that we looked at six years ago. The relative risk of a bad outcome was 3.5 if they presented with amnesia and 1.8 if they present with a loss of consciousness.
