How to Reset the Internet

We are in fully everything old as new again territory and it is deeply entertaining. I was listening to somebody a few months ago who said that when we read about this era in the history books, the last 15 years will be a blip on the radar. It would be like one giant false start that we all made towards one way that the internet could work. And then we went right back to the way it was before and kept moving forward. Until this ends 15 years from now and we go right back to a bunch of centralized social network services. The parallels to lots of other things are there.
