The Pros and Cons of Parklets
In San Luis Obispo, one parking space parklet in front of a cafe downtown was removed because that business owner didn't want it. That is the level of like pettiness where I at with these parklets. So bringing in a parklet where lots of people can use it over the course of day, more people are enjoying that eight by 16 chunk of eight by 16 feet. But then you have counter arguments to this of, well, it depends on who's the patron of the restaurant, right? If it's a high class restaurant, well, now you've taken away a space where anybody who owns a vehicle could have used it.
