J.C.F. colleague Stephen Garringer has written a lovely new book regarding Campbell called Myth and Modern Living. I think it's a good thing to try to see Joseph Campbell as a human being who may not always have seen the world accurately due to the distorting lens of his time. We are all shaped by the conscious and unconscious forces at work on the cultures in which we live. And knowing that, perhaps we can hold some small measure of grace as we listen to and evaluate the ideas of men and women long since shuffled off this mortal coil.
