The Fundamental Principle of Ethics

Ethics is about good versus evil. To be unethical, you have to focus on ethics. The fundamental principle of all ethics is do good and avoid evil. That's pretty universal but focused on by all the great philosophers of the Western tradition up until modern times. I think Descartes is the first major philosopher to have no ethics at all.
