The Paradox of Catfishing in AI
In Her, a sort of quasi disembodied AI that is the main character falls in love with. I think actually what for me was so impactful about this was the parallel to the phenomenon of catfishing. posthumous chat bots that have been developed to simulate a deceased loved one may serve a kind of evolutionary function by helping people process their emotions after someone's death.
