How Mycobacterium Smegmatis Can Use Air to Make Electricity
Bacterium smegmatis has an enzyme in it that's able to suck hydrogen out of the air and convert it into electricity. In terms of what effect it would have on the air, the amount of hydrogen that it would be drawing would be just minuscule compared to how much is in the atmosphere anyway. Could we build almost like a biological battery that would do the same thing at the kind of scale that we can use it for a piring house or something like that? So that's a little way off. We've got April in Bathurst here.
