Is There a Selection for Bipedalism?

In a so called heterozygo where we have one normal t gean and one t gn from which weve snipped out just x on seven, those mice produce either short tail or no tail in about 20 % of the cases. So this is a, this was really a, i think, very, very strong evidence supporting the rat hypothesis. But presumably there must have been a selective advantage for a short tail, as how would it have continued? And what on earth is that? Because frankly, if i could hang from a tree with my tail, i'd be very happy.
