The Life and Times of Robert Spencer
Robert Spencer was brought up by his stepfather in Memphis, Mississippi. He moved back to Arkansas when he was 8 years old and lived on a plantation. Robert's older half-brother Charles Spencer Jr. known as Son introduced him to music. The two brothers played both guitar and piano together.
