Hemingway and Gellhorn

Hemingway's life was more or less shot out from under me and I was drinking much too much entirely through my own fault it felt to him as though not only his father's life was shot away but his own as well. upon his return to Key West in December of 1928 Hemingway worked on the draft of a farewell to arms before leaving for France in January he had finished it in August but delayed the revision Scribner's magazine was set to serialize it in May but as late as April Hemingway was still working on the ending. The completed novel was published on the 27th of September that year his biographer James Mello believes farewell to arms established Hemingway
