The Countercultural Potential of Psychedelics

There's no shortage of evidence that using psychedelics does not necessarily make you a good person. Stanislaw Grop had this famous characterization of LSD, which is that it's a non-specific amplifier of human tendencies. And the experience of using a psychedelic tends to be hilarious for me. So again, I think that they do have a lot of powerful things, but it's up to the individual and system of values and their desires to direct them towards something positive.
