NK cells are thought to be impaired during and briefly following acute episodes of sepsis. But apparently, despite that finding, if you infect them with bacteria, they can also be partially protective. And so, how can we use what we've learned from this cell subset towards treating things like sepsis? That's the goal. I don't think we can ever rely on the NK cells alone. It's going to be a combination of that.
