The Clactonian Industry and the Early Neanderthals
Archaeological deposits have something called the Clactonian industry, which is a very simple flake technology. It's not like the more sophisticated hand-acts technologies that were present at other sites and earlier. So weirdly, at the archaeological sites where we have spears, we have really simple lithic technologies, the flaked technologies, and not the hand-axes. These Clactonian people doing know who they were, as into what human group. I mean, there's so few sites with wooden spears in the place to see.
