"We're nowhere near nor will we be near 1.7 million dead in the United States as a result of this," CNN's John Sutter says. The estimates have been based on what's called the case fatality rate, which is 5 to 7%. "Even if we go with this worst case scenario ... it's looking like that 1.7m was grossly incorrect," he adds.
