U.S. senator says he has met with senior republican on banking committees who is pushing for financial sanctions against Russia. He adds that europe can't sustain a cut off of russian oil and gas, even though they don't need it right now. U.S. also wants to look at other energy resources such as wind or solar power in order to help transition the country from its reliance on Russian natural gas.
