The Moon and the Earth Are Orbiting Each Other

The ocean is liquid. That means it can move around in response to the forces on it. And there are two forces that matter here: gravitational pull of moon and centrifugal force. As you go underneath a bulge, you get high tide, and as you go underneath the sort of thinner edges, you get a low tide. And then you go through a high tide again and a low tide - all within one day. I think, i think, i Think that's a really brilliant way to describe it.
