Is There a Relationship Between Community Organizations and Community Security Organizations?

i'm curious what you all think about the strength and weaknesses of being an independent or having having sort of independent security organizations, versus having iges, sub sections of other organizations that are armed. i don't think there's any like, inherent sort of best answer here. I do think being part of a separate organization makes it harder to be in the community... but not really am like j b particular, has a perpetual problem with people saying, oh, you knowa john brown will do x.
