The absence of the Hyman or a Hyman that has been opened at some prior point has been disproven to determine whether or not there had been any type of sexual activity or penetration. So we are moving from inaccurate victimology to just plain stupid as far as I'm concerned and sexist. We don't know what happened during this assault. Let's assume that Irene was the one who made this decision. This leads this jerk of a physician to believe that she was bisexual. There is nothing wrong with being bisexual. There was in the 1920s. And it framed her in a way that made her an unsympathetic victim in the media. It was pretty disgusting.
