The Effects of Lower Political Network on School Construction
There could be several channels at play as you suggested. Lower political network could be one of them, but I don't find that to be the case. Whether a female politician is an incumbent or not doesn't seem to matter. It could be differences in candidate quality. You could expect that there's evidence that women are less likely to have criminal records against them. But given there's differences in criminal backgrounds or in candidate quality, I don't finds that that's something that's likely to drive the result.
