The Problems With YouTube's Thanksgiving Turkeys
Much of Mr Beast's reputation centres around his philanthropy. Media outlets like the Associated Press, Lupa and the Independent praise him uncritically. I think he genuinely cares, he has fun and he has a huge audience that he's hopefully inspiring to go out and do some good in the world themselves. This is certainly not to take away from all the good Mr Beast does, the effort he puts in and his intentions. We want to draw attention though to something else, the wider trend, the money behind it and the motivations of some of the people that support the content.
