JP Morgan's $50 Billion Loan

The FDIC estimates that the cost to the deposit insurance fund, the DIF, will be about $13 billion. J.P. Morgan assumes a internal rate of return, IRR of over 20% for this transaction. The OCC said that huge banks like JP Morgan really shouldn't own or be able to do these transactions, but that exemption was lifted because that's what JP Morgan said on the call.
