Out of the 220 countries, 89 are now below replacement level. Replacement level is two point one. It's something close to 100 countries in the world where total fertility rate is less than two pointOne. The population of the world is going to peak at around nine billion in 20 60 or 20 80,. So we're not talking about even getting to 12 billion people. We are asking whether a hundred years from now the world will have the same number of people as it is to day. If you look at japan and china, they're facing a huge demographic problem with under 15s. Not the size of the population but the demographic aspect of that population.

Is it true that the world’s rapidly growing population is consuming the planet’s natural resources at an alarming rate that would require two Earths to satisfy the demand for natural resources by 2030? Marian Tupy and Gale Pooley found that resources became more abundant as the population grew. They also found that resource abundance increased faster than the population. On average, every additional human being created more value than he or she consumed.
