How Digital Timekeeping Changes Our Relationship to Time
If you don't have a mechanical clock, especially not one that you can carry on your person, it's an evolution from the clock towers of the middle ages to more precision timekeeping. It doesn't make it a bit possible at any time to check where you are in this series of discrete moments in a day. I cannot tell somebody I'll meet you at 1215 if I don't have that capacity. This way of thinking about how I order my day.
