We don't have well-established coons equivalent tests for platelets, where you're looking to see if a patient's serum is reactive against test platelets. So sometimes after you've ruled out all the really dangerous stuff, you also just go ahead and try empiric treatment for ITP. You give one gram per kilogram every 24 hours for two days of IVIG,. We also tend to give steroids at 40 milligrams daily for four days. Is this your standard approach? Is there other things that you guys have seen?
